The collection consists of papers of Edward E. Dougherty from 1941-1976. The papers include correspondence, records relating to Dougherty's army service during World War II and reserve duties after the war, printed material, and photographs. The correspondence (1941-1946) is mainly between Dougherty and his mother, Blanche C. Dougherty of Dayton (Ohio), during his army training in the United States and his service in the European theater with the 32nd Armored Battalion of the 3rd Armored Division during World War II.
